I brought my bestie to make custom lipstick as a birthday surprise because she has been trying to find a good brown for her skin tone. We worked with Lanae and it was such a fun experience! Originally we booked for an hour to make one lipstick and a cream foundation. We were having so much fun that we were there for 2.5 hours. Lanae was INCREDIBLE! I so appreciate her time and patience with us and her willingness to make more products during her busy time of day. The lipstick we were searching for was found after some fun mixing and trial and error. We ended up with a total of five lipsticks, foundation cream, an eyeshadow, and other picks from around the store. I will be returning in the future to make more products! Such a fun and exciting thing to try, and would recommend Lanae and her business to everyone!

I’ve never known how to match foundation to my skin color, so I signed up for a half hour with Lanae to have her mix up Everything All Day Optimizing Cream, custom-tinted just for me. I love it — it has great coverage, it’s not heavy, and it was fun chatting with Lanae as a bonus while she hand-mixed my personal make-up. I also have her blusher, which blends in perfectly and looks natural. Highly recommended!

So Much Fun!

My mom and I were looking for something fun to do and stumbled upon Mix Cosmetiques via VisitDuluth.com’s website. We were curious so checked out the website. We signed up the for the create cream makeup and it was so much fun – a little messy, but fun! I struggle with finding the correct shade for foundation and was so excited to learn Lanae can create my very own custom shade and keep the “recipe” on file for me to order again in the future, which I most certainly will! Lanae was so patient, offered great suggestions and Finley, the store greeter, was so sweet!! Highly recommended! We will definitely be back!

Love it all!

I am in love with my custom makeups: powder eye shadow, burnt orange lipstick (specifically matched to my favorite drugstore color), and tinted Optimizing Face Cream. The quality is so lovely! As was the experience sitting and chatting with Lanae while she mixed her magic. I also use the Immortelle Oil before bed and wake up with a soft dewy complexion. You seriously must try these products for yourself!

I walked into this store on a whim after picking up some flowers next door. I was amazed that something I had been scouring the internet for was in my own community. Usually shopping for cosmetics is a nightmare, especially online. I have to look for products that are labeled “clean” or “hypoallergenic” only to find dangerous chemicals in them. Lanae has put the effort into making simple and quality products at manageable prices. My first visit I bought the eyebrow filler and mascara. They both work magnificently. They don’t cake or smear; which is a normal experience with other “natural” make-up. My plan is to invest my skin care and make-up into Mix Cosmetiques because Lanae has proven if you take your time, it is possible to make products that are good for our skin, and for the planet.

Do I need a reservation to come in?

We highly recommend making a reservation to ensure we can serve you. While we do take walk-ins when there is availability, we can’t always guarantee service without a reservation.

How much does a service cost?

Each individual service is priced differently. Please, refer to each workshop page for the cost of the service.

How long does a Mix Cosmetiques experience take?

Reservation times vary and depend on the number of guests and the workshop you choose. It is common to plan on 1 hour for up to 4 people, 1 1/2 hours for 4-6 and up to 2 hours for 6 or more people.

Can I reschedule, add to, or remove guests from my reservation?

To reschedule your reservation, please see your confirmation email to cancel or reschedule your reservation. Can’t find it? Reach out to customer service here.

To add more guests, make an additional reservation for them at the same time. If there are no other available reservations, please email customer service and we will do our best to see if there is availability.

To remove guests, please cancel via your confirmation email and rebook your reservation with the correct number of people. Your bookings block seats from other guests so please do not hold onto more seats than you need.

Do you have a grace period if I am running late to my reservation?

We understand things happen. We offer a 10-minute grace period and will try to accommodate after that period if we have availability. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we may need to reschedule you.
