What I’m using in 2019

a group of organic and natural ingredients for use in cosmetics

Now introducing my newest ingredients! What I’m playing with and what I’m interested in. I love trying new ingredients and creating new products. In this video I introduce you to Octyldodecanol, AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) & BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) Fruit Extract Acids, Polyhydroxystearic Acid from castor oil, Retinol and Vitamin C in the form of Magnesium Ascorbic Phosphate and Tetrahexadecyl Ascorbate. These are all the huge words that you read on the back of your ingredient label, and they make you say, “what is this!!!”. I hope I break them down in a way you can understand and will help you become a more informed consumer.

Which of these ingredients are you familiar with? What do you already use? How do you like to use them; in a body cream, face cream, makeup, toner, moisturizer? Do you have any ideas for products that I should experiment with? Since recording this video I have tried making a fruit acid body cream, but someone suggested a fruit acid face wash. I think that is brilliant and it immediately went on my list. Wouldn’t it be amazing if as you washed your face you also experienced a gentle exfoliating action? 2-in-1 is always my favorite kind of product to make. If we can accomplish the same effects with less time and product I am all in. I would love to hear what you think! Testing is already underway with some of these and I am coming up with new ideas everyday. Stay tuned this year for news of what I have tried, what is a winner and what gets thrown out the window.
