Soap Making Class | Sept 19
Have you always wanted to try making soap, but it seems a little overwhelming? Taking a class is the perfect introduction! You will learn how to make all-natural cold process soap through creating a batch of your own.
Cost per person: $72.00
Although it may seem complicated when you are first starting out, making your own soap from scratch using all-natural ingredients can be both fun and rewarding ~ not to mention extremely addicting! You can tailor it to suit any skin type as well as insure that only the most beneficial ingredients go into your finished soap. The class will cover the following as we make a 2-pound batch of soap (about 8-10 bars) using the cold process method:
- Brief history and basic chemistry of soap making
- Necessary materials, supplies and equipment
- Safety considerations when working with lye
- Accurate measurements and proper mixing temperatures
- Coloring soap naturally with herbs, spices and clays
- Using pure essential oils to scent your soap naturally
- Preparing your molds and molding options
- Insulating, cutting, curing and storing your finished soap
Students will receive soap recipes and a list of places to buy soap making supplies and equipment.
I don’t allow children under the age of 10 to attend because there is a point in the class where it becomes slightly dangerous and I don’t want any distractions.
Cancellations: If you cannot make it to your class please be kind enough to let us know 48 hours in advance so we may give your spot to another eager soaper! No refunds for no-shows and late cancellations.

The lip gloss workshop was so much fun! Lanae was warm, kind, and welcoming. She encouraged trial and error as well as getting messy! Her knowledge of the ingredients and what properties they added to the gloss (pigment, moisture, long wearing, etc.) were extremely helpful in creating the perfect gloss! I love my new lip gloss and will be back for other classes!
My aunt brought me to this class for a birthday present. What a fun thing to do! Lanea was knowledgeable and fun, she explained everything clearly and I learned a lot! I loved that the products were body and earth conscious. I also loved that I could choose different ingredients to make my bath salts to my specific needs and likes. We also enjoyed shopping after, we each picked up lotion and bug balm. I am already planning my next visit!
My 2 daughters and I took the lotion class. We had a wonderful time. Out instructor was patient, friendly, informative, and you could tell she loved her job. We will be taking another class if we make it back to Duluth.
I would highly recommend Mix Cosmetiques for a fun outing, such as their bath bomb making class. It was amazing and so much fun! And of course the bath bombs were so nice to use! And smelled amazing!
I highly recommend taking this class! My friends and I had such a blast customizing a palette to ourselves. Lanae has such great energy and was very helpful! If you are thinking about taking a class do it! You will not regret!
The class was very interesting and informative. I learned a lot of what the ingredients are and what they will do for my skin. Lanae knows her chemistry. She made the lesson easy to follow and understand. She is very friendly and made me feel comfortable. Can’t wait to take another class!!

We highly recommend making a reservation to ensure we can serve you. While we do take walk-ins when there is availability, we can’t always guarantee service without a reservation.
Each individual service is priced differently. Please, refer to each workshop page for the cost of the service.
Reservation times vary and depend on the number of guests and the workshop you choose. It is common to plan on 1 hour for up to 4 people, 1 1/2 hours for 4-6 and up to 2 hours for 6 or more people.
To reschedule your reservation, please see your confirmation email to cancel or reschedule your reservation. Can’t find it? Reach out to customer service here.
To add more guests, make an additional reservation for them at the same time. If there are no other available reservations, please email customer service and we will do our best to see if there is availability.
To remove guests, please cancel via your confirmation email and rebook your reservation with the correct number of people. Your bookings block seats from other guests so please do not hold onto more seats than you need.
We understand things happen. We offer a 10-minute grace period and will try to accommodate after that period if we have availability. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we may need to reschedule you.
