Why did we choose these ingredients?
Jojoba Oil: Jojoba oil closely resembles the natural oils produced by the skin, making it an ideal moisturizer. It has anti-inflammatory properties, making it beneficial for soothing sensitive or irritated skin. This is one of our favorite skin moisturizers!
Meadowfoam Oil: Meadowfoam oil is rich in antioxidants and emollients, making it an excellent moisturizer for the skin that helps to lock in moisture, preventing dehydration and keeping the skin soft and supple. It is easily absorbed by the skin offering a barrier layer that locks in moisture and your pigment to keep your lipstick looking fresh longer with a blend of fatty acids that help to nourish and protect the skin barrier.
Pearl: Benefits come from its abundance of calcium, magnesium, and iron, plus conchiolin, an impressive protein composed of 17 skin-loving amino acids. Conchiolin hydrates the skin, rebuilds collagen and increases skin’s barrier action for retaining moisture. Pearl powder has been used in skincare for centuries due to its numerous benefits. As we age our collagen production (especially in the lips slows so stimulating collagen production and improving skin elasticity around the lips is a potent tool to prevent fine lines that color can creep into.

I gave the custom lipstick we created to granny in the shadow box. She got to look at it try it on and she just cried, its a bit darker than she remembered hers being on her wedding day in 1953 but she loved it. It reminded her of her wedding day. She says thank you so much for making her memory of her favorite lipstick shade from yesterday gone by, come back.
The lip gloss workshop was so much fun! Lanae was warm, kind, and welcoming. She encouraged trial and error as well as getting messy! Her knowledge of the ingredients and what properties they added to the gloss (pigment, moisture, long wearing, etc.) were extremely helpful in creating the perfect gloss! I love my new lip gloss and will be back for other classes!
My aunt brought me to this class for a birthday present. What a fun thing to do! Lanea was knowledgeable and fun, she explained everything clearly and I learned a lot! I loved that the products were body and earth conscious. I also loved that I could choose different ingredients to make my bath salts to my specific needs and likes. We also enjoyed shopping after, we each picked up lotion and bug balm. I am already planning my next visit!
My 2 daughters and I took the lotion class. We had a wonderful time. Out instructor was patient, friendly, informative, and you could tell she loved her job. We will be taking another class if we make it back to Duluth.
I would highly recommend Mix Cosmetiques for a fun outing, such as their bath bomb making class. It was amazing and so much fun! And of course the bath bombs were so nice to use! And smelled amazing!
I highly recommend taking this class! My friends and I had such a blast customizing a palette to ourselves. Lanae has such great energy and was very helpful! If you are thinking about taking a class do it! You will not regret!
The class was very interesting and informative. I learned a lot of what the ingredients are and what they will do for my skin. Lanae knows her chemistry. She made the lesson easy to follow and understand. She is very friendly and made me feel comfortable. Can’t wait to take another class!!
