Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, this workshop will guide you step-by-step through the process of making your own organic soap.
Many commercial soaps are packed with harsh, petroleum-based ingredients that can irritate delicate skin. By making your own soap, you’ll use only the finest organic ingredients, ensuring your creations are as nourishing as they are beautiful. Plus, you can customize your soap to suit any skin type, making these gifts truly personal and thoughtful.
In this workshop, you’ll be making a 2-pound batch of cold process soap (that’s about 8-10 bars) using the best all-natural ingredients. Here’s what you’ll learn:
- Selecting and preparing plant-based materials, supplies, and equipment
- Important safety tips for working with lye
- Mastering accurate measurements and perfect mixing temperatures
- Coloring your soap naturally with herbs, spices, and clays
- Scenting your soap with pure essential oils
- Prepping your molds and exploring different molding options
- How to insulate, cut, cure, and store your finished soap
You’ll leave with your own custom-made soap, ready to gift or keep, along with a detailed recipe and a resource list for all your soap-making needs. The best part? Making soap is not only rewarding but can also become a delightful new hobby—perfect for creating thoughtful, handmade gifts throughout the year.
I don’t allow children under the age of 10 to attend because there is a point in the class where it becomes slightly dangerous and I don’t want any distractions.
Cancellations: If you cannot make it to your class please be kind enough to let us know 48 hours in advance so we may give your spot to another eager soaper! No refunds for no-shows and late cancellations.

** Please note that it takes at least 4 weeks for the cold process soap to cure and ready to use from the date you make it. The soap made at this workshop will be right in time for Christmas!

The lip gloss workshop was so much fun! Lanae was warm, kind, and welcoming. She encouraged trial and error as well as getting messy! Her knowledge of the ingredients and what properties they added to the gloss (pigment, moisture, long wearing, etc.) were extremely helpful in creating the perfect gloss! I love my new lip gloss and will be back for other classes!
My aunt brought me to this class for a birthday present. What a fun thing to do! Lanea was knowledgeable and fun, she explained everything clearly and I learned a lot! I loved that the products were body and earth conscious. I also loved that I could choose different ingredients to make my bath salts to my specific needs and likes. We also enjoyed shopping after, we each picked up lotion and bug balm. I am already planning my next visit!
My 2 daughters and I took the lotion class. We had a wonderful time. Out instructor was patient, friendly, informative, and you could tell she loved her job. We will be taking another class if we make it back to Duluth.

We highly recommend making a reservation to ensure we can serve you. While we do take walk-ins when there is availability, we can’t always guarantee service without a reservation.
Each individual service is priced differently. Please, refer to each workshop page for the cost of the service.
Reservation times vary and depend on the number of guests and the workshop you choose. It is common to plan on 1 hour for up to 4 people, 1 1/2 hours for 4-6 and up to 2 hours for 6 or more people.
To reschedule your reservation, please see your confirmation email to cancel or reschedule your reservation. Can’t find it? Reach out to customer service here.
To add more guests, make an additional reservation for them at the same time. If there are no other available reservations, please email customer service and we will do our best to see if there is availability.
To remove guests, please cancel via your confirmation email and rebook your reservation with the correct number of people. Your bookings block seats from other guests so please do not hold onto more seats than you need.
We understand things happen. We offer a 10-minute grace period and will try to accommodate after that period if we have availability. If you are more than 10 minutes late, we may need to reschedule you.
